Straight to the point: Get out of the city and enjoy nature…..NOW! The world has become more and more urban in recent times. Nowadays, more people are living in cities than every before. There are kids that have never really experienced what nature has to offer. These city kids only know about domesticated pets, pigeons and squirrels. Besides what they see on tv, they’ve never experience what the outdoors really is. There’s a whole world out there full of forests, trees, animals, rivers, waterfalls and everything else that this amazing world has to offer. Let’s take a look into a few specific reasons why we need to all drop everything in the city and take off to the natural world.
CALMNESS OF NATURE
There’s so much chaos that goes on in the city. Nonstop, bumper-to-bumper traffic where people are rushing to get home, beeping there way through the commute. So many lights and noises going on that can take a bit to take in if you’re not from the city. The subway train pulling up to the station, with the conductor telling everyone that the “doors are closing” and at the same time, at the corner of the block, you see a bus pulling up to the bus stop. Before turning to see the bus, you can heard it screeching to a stop and all the other sounds that exhausted from the transit bus. You walk through the city and have to keep your eye opened for the cars, people, and bicyclists. It’s a craziness that will always seem to surprise you.
All this erratic behavior can take it’s toll on us. It is an absolute must for you to get away from everything and enjoy the stillness of nature. There’s nothing like camping out in the forest and hearing just how calm everything seems to be. The crickets chirping away and the lake water being as still as possible. It’s like a peaceful serenity. You feel all your anxiety leave you as you embrace the relaxation of nature.
THE BRIGHT STARS
When you’re camping outdoors, usually the only thing you have to light up your night is the fire you make. But don’t forget about the beautiful, vibrant sky! Now that there’s no light pollution disturbing you’re view like in the city, you get take in all the spectacular stars shining down over you. You can really see the luminous moon shining over the lake lighting the whole forest. Star gazing really adds the peacefulness of the outdoors.
FENDING FOR YOURSELF
I think a lot of times, we forgot what it’s like to put fend for ourselves. We’re so use to a 7eleven on every corner or a restaurant being walking distance from wherever we are, that we forget how to do for ourselves. When you’re outdoor camping, you have to really do stuff for yourself. You have no one to count on except the people your with. Someone must build the camp site and tents. Someone else needs to build the fire. Somebody else has to set up the task list and figure out what else needs to be done. Teamwork goes a long way. You give everyone a sense of accomplishment. Surviving in the outdoors is something to be proud of.
THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD
One thing that we must acknowledge is that there is beauty every where we look. The world is full of so much beauty. We just have to step back and step out to see all the amazing things we are missing. So go out today and explore the world! Enjoy all that nature gives us. Those breathtaking views from mountain tops. All the bold, rich colors that radiate from the wilderness.
Do this as soon as you can! Drop everything this weekend and go camping! Let me know how it goes!
